A subject that I enjoy studying: Social History of Chile

The subject that I  most enjoy studying and learning is social history of Chile, in this subject we talk mainly about historical events in our country focused mainly on the events in which the working class and the popular population of Chile were involved.     I like to study about this since I find it very interesting to know the things that are taught in that class, they seem to me fundamental things to know in realtion to my university career, since in some way we are presented with the historical bases of the social problems that have existed in our country and the world.    What I learned from this subject is how the working class and the population that was subdued by the elite began to organiza to resist the abuses they suffered by the owners of the means of production and against the advance of the industrial capitalist system that was gaining more and more strength.  ...

A person in your field that you admire

Imagen
The person I will talk about today is a social worker and teacher of the discipline, which is Professor Gianinna Muñoz. I personally admire Professor Gianinna since last semester in wich we had classes with her I found it very interesting what she exposed. I think she was very focused on making us work our critical thinking and that we had to understand several things in order to get rid of erroneous ideas regarding how to practice the profession.    She has contributed greatly to social work at the Latin American level, has made several publications, studies and research together with teams of professionals on topics and theories of considerable contingency at the social level in our region.    Giannina Muñoz Arce is a chilean woman, professor and a social worker. She was born in San Antonio and she did a master´s degree in ...

How can your major make the world a better place? Social Work

Imagen
My career, social work since it has been present (formerly as a social service) has been very helpful to society, putting its focus on delivering the necessary tools and aid to the most vulnerable and repressed sectors of society by the capitalist system in wich we are inserted. Being thanks to this that during the advance of the years it has been possible to excercise resistance to the inequalities generated, being at the same time the profession inserted in this economic and politicial system.  I imagine myself in a few more years being able to be me as a professional who can contribute to society in interventions, researchs and actively participating in what can be of help to advance in the emancipation of the popular sectors.    Social work contributes t...

A photo and its Story

Imagen
This photo is important to me because it brings back memories from the past, mainly the times when I have gone to the beach with my friends. This yeae I had the opportunity during the summer and winter holidays to go to the beach with my friends. They were moments of pure joy, that seeing that photo always makes me want to feel like this again, it brings me a lot of calm.  The photo is very nice and interesting visually in my opinion, you can see a nice sunset that always makes me wanr to go to the beach againg for the good times I have had in that place.      The history behind this photo it was when I was in Viña del Mar with a friend riding a bicycle along the waterfront of the beach, it had been a very nice day and the wind hit very cool along with the sea breeze, then we sat down to rest and enjoy the view, and at that ...

Food You Really Like - Jjajang Tobokki

Imagen
Lately I have become a fan of Korean food, thanks to the Korean restaurants located in Patronato. This is why my favorite food now is a Korean dish, called Jjajang Tobokki. The ingredients are rice doughs called tteoks, topped in chunjang sauce (which is a fermentation of soy and black beans), accompanied by vegetables and chives.  The preparation consists of placing the tteoks in a pot along with the sauce and seasoning to taste until the tteoks begin to take the color of the sauce. I really like its flavor, as it mixes with the sauce and the texture of the tteoks is very soft almst like a gummy. In addition, in most restaurants the dishes are big and affordable. ...

My favorite piece of technology - My computer

Imagen
My favorite technological onject is my computer, my parents gave it to me on December 25, 2020, at  Christmas, since I would need one when I entered the university and it was also as compensation for having finished school with good grades I mainly use it for everything related to the university, watching classes, taking notes, doing works, etc. But I also use it to play League of Legends and watch series or anime. I use it every day, most days I use it for several hours.  I like it much more than other objects like the cellphone, because it works quite well, it is quite fast and never gets stuck. I can be playing, listening to music and with many tabs open, but the computer will not work badly.  Life without my computer would be much more complicated, I would have nowhere to do university work nor would I have anywhere to entertain myself apart from the cell phone.   ...

Why I choose my career: Social Work

Imagen
When I was a child my dream was to be a veterinarian o study languages, but I have always been more linked to the area of humanities and social sciences. As I greuw up it made it a little difficult for me to look for a career that would catch my attention, but only in the last year of school I became more interested in Social Work, so I began to review the curriculum of the University of Chile and that´s when I finally felt that I really wanted to study a career.     My experience studying Social Work online has been good, not the best, but I have been able to learn many new things that I feel will serve me as a future Social Worker, the professsors and my classmates have been very geat, I have made very good friends and that´s makes me happy. In a few more years I would like to work in spaces where change can be ensured, especially those related to sexual diversity and the segregated sectors of t...
